The Assembly Member for Anyinabrim Electoral Area, Haruna Awelinga, has shown his support for students preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) by donating 100 mathematical sets and 100 pens to candidates in his area.
The donation was made to final-year students from Anyinabrim M/A Junior High School and Progress Junior High School. The support comes just days before the start of the exams on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Speaking during the presentation, Haruna Awelinga said the donation is meant to motivate the students and help them prepare well for their exams.
He explained that some parents struggle to buy basic items like mathematical sets for their children, which can cause problems during exams.
“Sometimes, students borrow tools from friends during exams because they don’t have their own. That’s not right. I’ve seen this happen before, and I decided to help in my small way,” he said.
Haruna Awelinga also advised the students to stay away from cheating and avoid using leaked exam questions, popularly known as “apor.”
He encouraged them to remain calm, trust their preparation, and write the exams with confidence.
“Take this exam seriously, just like your usual school exams. Obey all the rules, stay focused, and do your best. With hard work, you will succeed,” he told the candidates.
He also called on parents and teachers not to interfere in the examination process or try to help students in illegal ways. Instead, he urged parents to give their children emotional and material support as they prepare.
Haruna Awelinga ended by wishing all the students success and asked for God’s blessings to guide them throughout the exams.
