Blacoe Soccer Queens kicked off their Western Regional Football Association (WRFA) Womenโs Division One League campaign in style, securing a dominant 3-0 victory over Leona Ladies from Sefwi Bekwai at the Bia Sec/Tech Park in Debiso on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
From the opening whistle, Blacoe Soccer Queens took control of the match, displaying tactical brilliance and attacking prowess. The first goal came in the first half when Gifty Dede converted a penalty, giving Blacoe an early lead.
Linda Mensah doubled the advantage with a powerful strike, extending Blacoeโs dominance before halftime.
After the break, Rachel Kuruwaa sealed the win with a well-taken goal, ensuring an emphatic start to the season for Blacoe Soccer Queens.
Despite their efforts, Leona Ladies struggled to break through Blacoe’s defense. The visitors had a chance to get back into the game when they were awarded a penalty, but they failed to convert, missing the opportunity to reduce the deficit.
Blacoeโs attacking trio of Gifty Dede, Linda Mensah, and Rachel Kuruwaa proved too much for Leona Ladies’ defense, while captain Lydia Mensah led the midfield with composure and control.
