The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has extended heartfelt appreciation to four professional health associations for their unwavering dedication to patient care amid the ongoing industrial strike in the health sector.
In a meeting held on Wednesday, June 11, with the leadership of the Union of Professional Nurses and Midwives, Ghana (UPNMG), the Professional Association of Psychiatric Nurses – Ghana, the National Association of Registered Midwives, and the Ghana Registered Midwives Association, the Minister acknowledged their commitment and patriotism.

He praised the associations for continuing to provide essential health services during this challenging period, describing their actions as a testament to their sense of duty and responsibility to the people of Ghana.

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh emphasized that the government remains committed to addressing the concerns raised by health workers and called for continued dialogue and collaboration to ensure a stable and effective healthcare delivery system.
The ongoing strike has affected several healthcare institutions across the country, but the continued services from these four associations have provided critical support to patients and health facilities alike.
