The Western North Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals for the illegal possession and discharge of firearms during a funeral event.

In a statement issued on Thursday, April 3, the police said the suspects, Frank Afoko, 41, and Kojo Agyapong, 31, were apprehended on April 2, around 2:00 pm by the Police Intelligence Department with support from the Formed Police Unit.

Their arrest follows investigations into a viral video from March 14, 2025, showing individuals recklessly firing guns at a funeral in Attakrom, near Bibiani.

The police explained that the suspects, along with others who are currently at large, fired the weapons without lawful authority.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted to being the individuals captured in the footage. Both suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with further investigations.

Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the remaining culprits.

The Western North Regional Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public safety and has urged citizens to provide any information that could aid in apprehending the other suspects.
