𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗮


The Western Central Regional Police Command has apprehended two individuals suspected of plotting a robbery near Asankraguah in the Western Region.

The arrest was shared in a statement on the official Facebook page of the Ghana Police Service.

According to the post, “The suspects, identified as Mohammed Abdul-Salam (28) and Karim Yakubu (42), were spotted hiding in a bush along a section of the road. Upon noticing a police patrol team, they attempted to flee the scene prompting a swift pursuit by the police officers.”

The Police further noted that the chase led officers to an abandoned mining area, where the suspects leapt into a muddy pit in a desperate bid to escape.

“However, the Police officers managed to rescue them from the pit and successfully arrested them.”

According to the Police, “A search conducted at the time of the arrest led to the retrieval of: One shotgun, Three AAA cartridges and One Nokia keypad mobile phone.”

“The suspects are currently in police custody assisting investigations,” the statement concluded.
