Bibiani Goldstars head coach, Frimpong Manso, has urged his team to maintain their hard work and intensity after securing a crucial 2-1 victory over Heart of Lions at Dun’s Park.
The win ended a streak of drawn encounters between the two sides in Bibiani, keeping Goldstars at the top of the league table.
Speaking after the match, Coach Frimpong Manso acknowledged the tough challenge posed by Heart of Lions but praised his team’s determination to break the trend.
“It was a very difficult game, and we knew before the match that it would be tough. Our previous matches against them here in Bibiani have always ended in a draw, so we were determined to break that pattern today,” he stated.
Goldstars dominated the first half, scoring two goals to establish control. However, the visitors fought back in the second half, narrowing the lead and putting the hosts under pressure.
“We controlled the first half and got two goals. In the second half, at a point, we lost control, and they got a goal, but the most important thing was securing the win, and we got it,” Manso added.
Despite their current strong form, the coach stressed that the competition is becoming more intense, requiring his team to remain focused and work even harder.
“The league is getting more difficult and intense. We have to work very hard because there is a big difference between home matches and away matches. Now that we are at the top, we must keep pushing harder,” he emphasized.
On the injury front, Manso noted that the club’s medical team would assess affected players before making any decisions.
He also took a moment to praise Charles Kamara Gyamfi for his standout performance, encouraging the talented player to continue improving.
“Kamara is a good player, and I am not surprised by his performance. I believe he has more to offer, but he needs to keep improving continuously to reach the top level,” Manso stated.
With their focus now shifting to their upcoming fixture against Dreams FC, Goldstars will be aiming to extend their fine form and maintain their position at the summit of the league.
