The Odikro of Sefwi Adobewura No. 1 in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality, Nana Yaw Donkor II, has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to education by donating more than 20 mathematical sets to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates of the Adobewura Methodist Junior High School (JHS).

In addition to this timely support, Nana Donkor II has announced an educational incentive scheme that will reward academic excellence among the candidates.

The top three students in the upcoming BECE will each receive GHC1,000 to help them prepare for Senior High School (SHS), while the overall best candidate will be presented with a laptop to enhance their academic journey at the SHS level.

This is not the first time the Chief has extended support to the school. Early this year, he donated 30 desks to improve teaching and learning conditions at the facility.

He has also hinted at plans to establish a fully furnished computer laboratory for the school to promote digital literacy and improve the standard of education in the community.

Speaking on behalf of the Chief during the presentation, Nana Agyenim Boateng emphasized that the donation was a personal initiative by Nana Donkor II aimed at promoting educational development in Adobewura.

He described education as a critical tool for socio-economic transformation, stating, “It is the bridge that narrows the gap between the rich and the poor.”

Nana Boateng encouraged the candidates to take their examinations seriously, describing it as a crucial step in their academic and professional lives.

“Do not let fear or anxiety hold you back. Trust in your abilities and the knowledge your dedicated teachers have instilled in you,” he urged.

He also revealed that Nana Donkor II is in the process of establishing an educational fund to support brilliant but needy students in the community.

“The government has done its part with the Free SHS programme, but it’s time for community leaders and individuals to step up and support the underprivileged in our own small ways,” he added.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, Mr. Bismark Owusu Asare, Headmaster of Adobewura Methodist JHS, expressed profound gratitude to the Chief.

He assured that the mathematical sets would be distributed appropriately and put to good use by the candidates.
