Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central Constituency in the Western Region, has urged residents, particularly the youth, to position themselves for economic empowerment by taking advantage of job and skills-training opportunities created by ongoing and upcoming road construction projects in the constituency.

Speaking on Lord FM’s Morning Show with Kwame Kentor Boateng, the MP encouraged residents to enroll in contractor-led training programmes focused on practical construction skills such as block moulding and other road-related activities.

She explained that the initiative is designed to prepare residents for direct employment on major infrastructure projects while ensuring that local communities benefit meaningfully from development efforts.

According to Joana Gyan Cudjoe, empowering the youth with hands-on skills will not only reduce unemployment but also improve livelihoods and enhance local participation in national development.

She stressed that residents must “seize this invaluable opportunity” to build sustainable sources of income and contribute to the successful execution of projects in Amenfi Central.

The MP further underscored her firm belief in education as the cornerstone of development, revealing that she has personally funded community teachers in dozens of basic schools across the constituency.

This intervention, she noted, has supported thousands of pupils and educators, helping to improve teaching and learning outcomes at the grassroots level.

In addition to education support, Joana Gyan Cudjoe highlighted several youth empowerment initiatives, including expanded skills training through the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), job opportunities within local block factories, and work-abroad programmes aimed at equipping young people with practical and marketable skills.

Touching on politics and party organization, the MP shared a festive message ahead of Christmas 2025, announcing plans to dine and celebrate with NDC constituency executives, coordinators, and branch executives.

She described the gathering as part of efforts to strengthen unity and grassroots structures within the party.

She reaffirmed her commitment to consolidating the National Democratic Congress’ strength in Amenfi Central, stating that her goal is to ensure the constituency “stays in government” by delivering development, inclusiveness, and responsive leadership.

Joana Gyan Cudjoe concluded by calling for unity beyond partisan lines and encouraging the youth to play active roles in governance and community development, noting that her vision is to build a prosperous, inclusive, and forward-looking Amenfi Central where opportunities are accessible to all.
