The Western North Regional Minister, Wilbert Petty Brentum, has issued a strong warning to the general public about the increasing number of fraudulent social media accounts being created in his name.
In a statement posted on his official office Facebook page and cited by Sefwinews, the Minister expressed deep concern over the activities of these imposters, who are using his identity to deceive and defraud unsuspecting individuals—particularly with false promises of securing recruitment opportunities into the various security services.
“Despite several warnings, some dishonest individuals are still creating fake social media accounts in my name to deceive and defraud people, especially with lies about security service recruitment,” he stated.
Wilbert Petty Brentum emphasized that he does not engage in private messages (DMs) to solicit favours or offer recruitment assistance.
“Let me repeat this clearly: I do not DM anyone for recruitment or favours of any kind. Anyone who contacts you with such claims is a fraudster,” he warned.
He urged the public to remain vigilant and continue reporting these fake accounts to the appropriate platforms. “Please continue to report these fake accounts. Let’s protect ourselves and others,” the Minister concluded.
