The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Bia West, Mathew Annor, has paid a significant working visit to monitor the progress of an ongoing road construction project that spans from Brebre to Yellow Camp, and extends all the way through to Jericho.

This project is a critical part of his administration’s efforts to enhance road infrastructure in the district and improve connectivity, which is expected to facilitate economic growth and development.

Progress of the Road Construction Project

Mathew Annor, in his address during the visit, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project, noting the positive developments that have already been made.

“The road conditions in Bia West have been a challenge for many years, and this project is a major step toward improving transportation within the district. Better roads will not only make it easier for people to move around but will also encourage businesses, tourism, and overall economic activities,” the DCE remarked.

Engagement with the Community

While monitoring the project, Mathew Annor took the time to interact with community members, listening attentively to their concerns and challenges.

He emphasized the importance of feedback from the people in making informed decisions that directly benefit the community.

The residents raised several issues during their interaction with the DCE, with access to potable drinking water being a key concern. Many areas in the district still face challenges in accessing clean and reliable water sources, which remains a pressing need for the residents.

Mathew Annor acknowledged the issue, stating that improving access to clean water would be prioritized.

Another concern highlighted by the community members was the need for better access to the newly constructed Primary School Block.

While the school is a significant addition to the district’s education infrastructure, some residents expressed difficulties in accessing it due to the existing road conditions and limited transportation options.

The DCE assured the residents that their concerns would be addressed and that efforts would be made to ensure the new school block becomes accessible to all.

Additionally, security in the district was raised as a concern, with several residents requesting increased patrols and better protection for the community.

Mathew Annor assured them that the district security apparatus would be reinforced, and strategies would be implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.

Future Plans for Bia West

Mathew Annor’s commitment to improving Bia West was further emphasized as he spoke about his administration’s long-term vision for the district.

“As the DCE, my primary goal is to make Bia West a model district in terms of infrastructure, economic development, and the overall well-being of our people. The road project is just one step in that direction,” he stated.

He also mentioned that there are ongoing plans to enhance healthcare services, promote education, and provide more sustainable job opportunities for the youth.

As part of his agenda, Mathew Annor plans to advocate for more funding and resources from both the central government and development partners to ensure the realization of these plans.

“My priority is to address the concerns raised by the people and make Bia West great again. Together, we will build a stronger and more prosperous district that provides opportunities for all,” Mathew Annor concluded.
