The President of the Ghana Association of Assembly Members (GAAM) and Assembly Member for Asawinso ‘A’ Electoral Area, Frank Ackah Nelson, has extended heartfelt appreciation to the general public for their warm wishes and support during the celebration of his birthday on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
In a statement, Mr. Ackah Nelson described the show of love as overwhelming, noting that the messages, prayers, and goodwill extended to him came from colleagues in local governance, political leaders, traditional authorities, family members, friends, and constituents across the country.
“I am humbled by the enormous outpouring of love and encouragement I received on my birthday. These acts of kindness remind me that leadership is about people and service, and I remain resolute in dedicating my efforts toward grassroots development and the welfare of assembly members nationwide,” he said.
As President of GAAM, Mr. Ackah Nelson has been at the forefront of championing the welfare and recognition of assembly members across Ghana.
He has consistently advocated for improved conditions of service for local representatives, capacity-building initiatives, and stronger collaboration between assembly members and central government to deepen decentralization.
In his role as Assembly Member for Asawinso ‘A’, he has also been instrumental in community development projects, championing issues of sanitation, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and civic participation.
His birthday, therefore, became an opportunity not only for celebration but also for many to commend him for his dedication to leadership and service at the grassroots level.
The GAAM President assured the public that the outpouring of goodwill on his birthday would inspire him to work even harder in ensuring that the voices of assembly members are heard and that their contributions to local governance are adequately recognized.
“Assembly members are the closest link between government and the people. As such, our roles must be supported, respected, and strengthened to deliver on the mandate of local governance. I assure my colleagues and the public that I will continue to use my office to advance this cause,” he added.
Mr. Ackah Nelson further called for unity among all stakeholders in local governance, emphasizing that collaboration remains key in driving meaningful development at the community level.
