Bibiani Goldstars SC have reinforced their attack with the signing of Burkinabรฉ striker Razack Sanou from FC Salitas.
Chief Executive Officer Akwasi Adu, in remarks captured in a Facebook post on Kessben TV, explained that the move was necessary to address gaps in the teamโs frontline.
He explained that during their recent game against Asante Kotoko, striker Samuel Atta Kumi had to be substituted in the 34th minute after picking up a knock. This left Sampson Eduku to lead the attack alone, and he was often isolated against Kotokoโs strong defense.
โWhen Atta Kumi went out, it left only Sampson Eduku upfront, and given his stature compared to the Kotoko defenders, he was somewhat bullied,โ Adu stated.
He added that Sanouโs height and strength are expected to provide a new dimension to Goldstarsโ attack, particularly in aerial challenges.
โFortunately, weโve brought on a tall Burkinabรฉ player, Razack Sanou, from FC Salitas. Weโre hoping heโll gel with the team and support us upfront, especially in aerial duels,โ he said.
Goldstars believe the new signing will help sharpen their attacking options as they continue their campaign in the Ghana Premier League.
