A routine inspection of the Juaboso District Chief Executive (DCE) residence has sparked outrage after several government assets went missing.

The inspection, which took place as part of the handover process following the dismissal of former MMDCEs by the Ghanaian government, revealed that critical items listed in the official handover note were nowhere to be found.

Former DCE Godfred Kwabena Agyei Asante, who complied with the constitutional requirement, submitted his handover note to the Juaboso District Assembly in January 2025.

However, during a subsequent visit by District workers and DCE nominee, Alexander Adu Quist, it was discovered that several key items, including four mattresses, beds, cooking utensils, and a television set, were missing from the residence.

These items were confirmed to be present before the handover, leading to confusion and concern among Assembly officials.

The Assembly has since announced that they will reach out to the former DCE, Agyei Asante, to clarify the whereabouts of the missing items and provide an explanation for their disappearance.

Mr. Adu Quist, who is currently awaiting confirmation as DCE, expressed his frustration at the situation, calling it “unacceptable” and a “disgrace to government property management.”

He promised to work closely with the Assembly to locate the missing items once confirmed in office.

Adu Quist also highlighted the dilapidated state of the residence, remarking that it appeared to have been neglected for years.
