The Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has officially declared two former studentsโRansford Fosu-Boateng, widely known as โScammer Baby,โ and Raphael Appiah Owusuโas persona non grata due to repeated unauthorized entries onto university premises.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar in charge of University Relations, Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, it was revealed that Fosu-Boateng was dismissed from the institution on 21st March 2022, while Raphael Appiah Owusuโs dismissal took effect at the conclusion of the 2023/2024 academic year.
Dr. Bekoe expressed concern that, despite their dismissal, both individuals have continued to unlawfully access various residential halls and university facilities.
He stated that their actions have been linked to misconduct, harassment of students, and repeated acts of indiscipline that compromise the safety and well-being of the University community.
He further noted that a recent incident captured by CCTV footage showed the two actively participating in an unauthorized gathering that resulted in vandalism and destruction of University property.
Dr. Bekoe stressed that their continued presence on campus is a serious breach of University rules.
He emphasized that since they are no longer recognized as students, they have no legitimate reason to be present on University grounds.
โAs such, they have been declared persona non grata and must be treated as trespassers if found within any part of the University environment,โ he said.
He also cautioned current students against maintaining any association with the dismissed individuals.
Any student found assisting or enabling their access to the campus, he warned, would be subject to strict disciplinary action in accordance with the Universityโs code of conduct.
Dr. Bekoe reiterated KNUSTโs commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and academically conducive environment for all duly recognized members of the University.
