Pious Vincent Abekah, Campaign Coordinator for Kennedy Agyapong in the Western North Region, has disclosed that the presidential hopeful intends to set up a chipboard factory in the region.
The initiative is aimed at creating employment opportunities for local youth and boosting economic activities. The region, known for its abundant forest resources, provides the ideal raw materials for chipboard production, making it a strategic location for the factory.
Speaking on Okyeame Radio’s Adekyee mu Nsem show, Pious Vincent Abekah said the Former Assin Central MP, who is vying to become the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Flagbearer, is committed to tackling unemployment through job creation, promoting agriculture, establishing factories, and combating corruption and bribery.
He emphasized that the chipboard factory will not only create jobs but also support local timber and forestry businesses, providing a sustainable avenue for economic growth.
On the fight against illegal mining, Pious Vincent Abekah stated that if Kennedy Agyapong were president, the galamsey menace would have been effectively tackled, describing his bold and assertive approach as a catalyst for discipline, accountability, and national progress.
Beyond industrial initiatives, Kennedy Agyapong plans to decentralize government departments to improve accessibility and accelerate development across the country.
Addressing concerns about his outspoken demeanor, Pious Vincent Abekah defended Kennedy Agyapong, explaining that his assertiveness stems from a refusal to stay silent when things are done incorrectly.
He emphasized that while no one is perfect, the public should focus on his dedication to Ghana’s growth and development.
Meanwhile, the campaign team also announced that Kennedy Agyapong will personally visit the Western North Region from 5th to 7th September 2025 as part of his Presidential Flagbearer tour.
