The Kofi Morgan Foundation has successfully organized a hands-on digital skills workshop for students of Enchi College of Education (Enchico), aimed at equipping them with essential 21st-century technological knowledge to enhance their career readiness and personal development.

The workshop, facilitated by passionate volunteers from the foundation, offered a rich hands-on learning experience that covered key areas such as an introduction to HTML & CSS with Bootstrap, domain and hosting management, content management systems (CMS), and artificial intelligence and app development.

The initiative was designed to equip teacher trainees with additional skills beyond the traditional curriculum, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of the modern digital world.

The “Digital Skills Development Workshop,” led by Ronald Andoh-Kwaw, Systems Coordinator and representative of the foundation, took place over the weekend of July 12 and 13, 2025.

According to Mr. Andoh-Kwaw, the initiative was intended to empower participants with relevant digital skills that are increasingly indispensable in today’s job market.

He also confirmed that each participant received a certificate of participation after completing hands-on projects.

Dr. Emmanuel Adom Ashun, Acting Principal of Enchi College of Education and Chairman of the event, emphasized the transformative role of coding and digital skills across sectors like education, healthcare, and communication.

He urged students to take the training seriously, actively engage with facilitators, and explore the opportunities that digital literacy offers.

Dr. Ashun also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Kofi Morgan Foundation for bringing such a valuable initiative to the college.

One of the participants, Susan Yeli, a Level 300 student, described the workshop as both inspiring and impactful.

She noted that beyond learning technical skills, the program focused on community development, youth empowerment, and mentorship.

“The mentorship aspect was especially meaningful. We received life skills, career guidance, and motivation from professionals. It was a life-changing experience,” she said.

The Kofi Morgan Foundation has hinted at plans to extend similar workshops to other educational institutions across the Western North Region, continuing its mission to support youth development through technology and education.
