The National Coordinator of the National Alternative Employment and Livelihood Programme (NAELP), Ing. Frank Pedro Asare, has led a significant mission to the Ellembelle District in the Western Region on Friday, 25th April 2025.

The visit was aimed at addressing the environmental degradation caused by illegal mining (galamsey) and identifying sustainable solutions to improve the livelihoods of affected communities.

During the visit, Ing. Asare and his team engaged with key communities, including Sendu, Sendu Fia Solo, Nkroful, and Anwia, to assess the environmental damage and hold discussions with local authorities, traditional leaders, and residents.

These interactions helped the team understand the specific challenges faced by the communities and their aspirations.

The community engagement sessions provided a valuable platform for residents to share their experiences and offer insights into potential solutions, which were crucial for tailoring NAELP’s land reclamation strategies and livelihood initiatives.

Ing. Frank Pedro Asare expressed his commitment to restoring the environment and empowering the people of Ellembelle, emphasizing that through collective efforts, the land could be healed.
