The sudden death of Nokware FM’s vibrant drive-time host, DJ Odenke, has plunged Sefwi Bonsu Nkwanta and the entire Western North media fraternity into shock and mourning.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, when the energetic broadcaster, who appeared healthy earlier in the day, suddenly collapsed at a local chop bar.

Eyewitnesses reported that he complained of dizziness before falling and hitting the back of his head on the tiled floor, leading to his instant death.

Earlier that morning, he showed no signs of illness and even updated his WhatsApp status around 10:00 am with Daddy Lumba’s classic hit “Ankwanoma.”

DJ Odenke, born and raised in the Western North Region, carved a niche for himself in the local media space with his commanding voice, energy, and passion for radio.

He began his career with Golden Pod Radio (now Life FM) in Juaboso, later moved to Beatz 95.5 FM in Asawinso, and most recently joined Nokware 97.1 FM in Bonsu Nkwanta, where he quickly became the station’s signature voice and a household name.

A proud graduate of the Oxford Institute of Business and Journalism, DJ Odenke was admired for his dedication, professionalism, and unique style that resonated with listeners across the region.

His drive-time show, known for its lively music and engaging interactions, attracted a wide following, making him one of the most beloved presenters in the Western North Region.

His colleagues, fans, and friends have been left devastated by the news, with many describing his death as not only a personal loss but also a huge blow to the entire entertainment industry in the region.
