Ghanaโ€™s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, is preparing with determination for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to be held in Egypt from April 27 to May 18.

Under the guidance of head coach Desmond Ofei, the young team has its sights set on clinching the title and reaffirming their position as one of the continentโ€™s elite youth sides.

Placed in a competitive Group C, Ghana faces a tough challenge against reigning champions Senegal, as well as DR Congo and the Central African Republic.

The Black Satellites understand the intensity of the competition and are focused on making it past the group stage, which will be a critical step in their quest for continental success.

Speaking to CAF media, Coach Ofei emphasized a measured approach to the tournament.

โ€œOur primary objective is to progress beyond the group stage. From there, weโ€™ll take each game as it comes. The ultimate dream is to win the championship and secure a spot at the U-20 World Cup, but that journey begins with staying disciplined and committed at every stage,โ€ he explained.

According to the tournament structure, the top two teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarter-finals.

This means Ghana must treat every game as vital, as one slip could cost them dearly. With that in mind, the team is channeling all efforts into consistent and top-level performances.

Having faced recent disappointments, the Black Satellites are driven to reclaim their former glory and remind Africa of their proud legacy in youth football.

With a blend of seasoned players and rising stars, Ghana is aiming to make a bold statement in Egypt and bring pride to the nation by conquering the 2025 AFCON.
