Sefwi All Stars were handed a frustrating defeat on Sunday, April 6, 2025, as they lost 1-0 to Asekem FC in a closely contested Ghana Division One League Matchday 22 encounter at Beposo.
The only goal of the match came in the 67th minute, courtesy of Asekem’s Justice Awua, who found the back of the net with a well-placed strike.
Despite pushing for an equalizer, Sefwi All Stars were unable to break down Asekem’s defense, with their efforts falling short.
The defeat leaves Sefwi All Stars still in 12th place on the league table with 23 points from 21 matches. Asekem, on the other hand, celebrates a crucial victory that lifts them to 14th place with 22 points.
This loss comes as a repeat of their earlier encounter in the first round of the league, where Asekem had also triumphed over the All Stars with a narrow 2-1 victory.
