𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘄𝗮 𝗨𝘁𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗧𝗡 𝗙𝗔 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗥𝟲𝟰 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲

Bia West District Division Two champions, Soccer Lions, have qualified for the Round of 64 of the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup after defeating Tarkwa United 5-4 on penalties in a thrilling encounter played at the T&A Stadium in Tarkwa.

The match produced an exciting 2-2 draw in regulation time, with both teams showing determination, attacking flair, and fighting spirit throughout the game.

Despite several late chances, neither side could find a decisive goal, sending the contest into a penalty shootout.

Soccer Lions held their nerve during the shootout, converting five spot-kicks against Tarkwa United’s four to seal a dramatic victory and secure qualification to the next round.

Head coach Martin Benjamin Appiah, popularly known as Fantastic, praised his players for their discipline and resilience.

“It was a very tough game, but the boys showed great character and focus. We believed in ourselves and fought until the end,” he said.

The victory sees Soccer Lions advance to the Round of 64 of the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup, continuing their impressive journey as proud representatives of the Bia West District.

The Simba Boys now await the official draw for their next opponent in the national competition.
