The Volta Region has once again etched its name in Ghanaโs political historyโnot for conflict or controversy, but for unity and progress.
In a refreshing and commendable development, all 18 Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) nominated for the region have been confirmed without a single hitch, drawing praise from across the country.
In a statement issued on April 13, 2025, the Volta Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Acting Regional Secretary, Bright Kwashie Ege, celebrated the feat as a โremarkable milestoneโ and extended warm congratulations to the newly confirmed MMDCEs on their assumption of office.
Speaking on behalf of the Regional Chairman, Comrade Mawutor Agbavitor, and the entire leadership of the party, Kwashie Ege emphasized that the successful confirmations were not achieved in a vacuum.
โThis was a collective victory,โ he stated, attributing the seamless process to the dedicated efforts of the Volta Regional Minister, regional and constituency executives, Members of Parliament, assembly members, chiefs, queen mothers, and other key stakeholders.
โThis is not just a win for the partyโitโs a moment of pride for the entire region,โ he declared.
According to Kwashie Ege, the peaceful and unanimous endorsement of most presidential nominees marks a new chapter in local governanceโone built on collaboration, maturity, and a shared vision for development.
โWe have proven that when duty calls, Volta rises,โ he affirmed.
He reminded the newly confirmed MMDCEs that they are the political and administrative heartbeat of their respective districts, urging them to align their leadership with the aspirations of the people and the commitments outlined in the NDC’s manifesto.
