Kennedy Ohene Agyapongโs Unity Tour of the Western North Region has been described as a turning point for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), with the regionโs spokesperson, Richard Armstrong, declaring that the exercise surpassed every expectation.
Speaking to the media after the tour, Richard Armstrong explained that the former lawmaker and NPP flagbearer hopeful for 2028 covered all nine constituencies in the region, where he was welcomed with enthusiasm by party delegates and supporters.
He noted that in each constituency, grassroots members urged Mr. Agyapong to lead the NPP, stressing that he is the only candidate with the capacity to address youth unemployment and deliver meaningful opportunities for the country.
Richard Armstrong also highlighted that the tour successfully brought together three former Members of Parliament for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai constituency โ Christopher Addea, Kingsley Aboagye-Gyedu, and Alfred Obeng Boateng โ who all came out to throw their weight behind Mr. Agyapongโs unity agenda.
Richard Armstrong recounted a touching moment when Mr. Agyapong visited a bedridden party member who had been paralyzed for years. Moved by his condition, Mr. Agyapong donated GHยข15,000 instantly and later followed up with GHยข20,000 more to support his care.
Armstrong said similar acts of compassion were repeated across several constituencies, with Mr. Agyapong spending millions of cedis to assist struggling party faithful.
โEverywhere we went, people poured out their concerns, and Ken never turned away. He listened, he responded, and he showed true leadership,โ Richard Armstrong remarked.
He further revealed that the tour drew massive crowds across the region, with thousands of NPP members defying scorching sun and heavy rain to welcome Mr. Agyapong.
โThe numbers we saw were beyond our imagination. It shows clearly that the grassroots are ready to stand firmly behind him,โ Armstrong stated.
Richard Armstrong emphasized that the main highlight of the tour was Mr. Agyapongโs unifying message. Branded as โThe Unifierโ by delegates, Mr. Agyapong consistently urged party members to put aside internal divisions, warning that unity and discipline were crucial for victory in 2028.
โOur party has suffered cracks, but Ken has come with a refreshing message that binds us together. That is why the grassroots are rallying behind him,โ Armstrong said.
Looking ahead, Richard Armstrong expressed optimism that the momentum gathered in the Western North Region would spread to other parts of the country, positioning Kennedy Agyapong strongly for the NPPโs flagbearership race in 2026 and ultimately for the 2028 general elections.
