The Western North Regional NDC Teachersโ Forum has joined the nation in mourning the victims of the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash, which claimed the lives of prominent government officials and dedicated public servants.
The tragic incident took the lives of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Mane-Twum Ampadu, Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, Alhaji Limuna Mohammed-Muniru, Samuel Sarpong, and Samuel Aboagye.
In a statement signed by its President, Mr. Abubakar Djibo, the Forum described the deceased as โremarkable individuals who served Ghana with vision, discipline, and unwavering commitment to national development and security.โ
They extended their deepest sympathies to bereaved families, colleagues, and loved ones, urging them to take comfort in cherished memories and the enduring legacy left behind.
The Forum specifically conveyed condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, acknowledging โthe weight of responsibility and grief that rests on your shouldersโ and assuring him of their solidarity in this time of sorrow.
โAs we mourn the loss of these great servants of the nation, we take comfort in the knowledge that they died serving their country. Their contributions to Ghanaโs progress will always be remembered,โ the statement said, noting that national flags have been directed to fly at half-mast in their honor.
The Teachersโ Forum concluded by reaffirming unity with the nation, pledging to honour the memory of the fallen and to draw inspiration from their dedication, passion, and commitment to public service.
