An 11-member Ministerial Oversight Committee has been inaugurated by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, to supervise Ghanaโs preparation and participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The ceremony took place at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, November 26. In his remarks, Mr. Debrah urged the committee to approach its mandate with integrity and total commitment to ensure effective coordination ahead of the tournament.
He also encouraged members to look beyond football and explore wider opportunities the World Cup presents.
Ghana secured qualification for the global showpiece with a narrow 1โ0 victory over Comoros on Sunday, October 12, in Accra โ sealing the Black Starsโ fifth World Cup appearance since 2006.
Inaugurating the committee, the Chief of Staff reiterated his call for diligence and integrity from all members.

Meanwhile, the government has allocated GHยข150 million to support the Black Starsโ participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, announced this on Thursday, November 13, during the presentation of the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament.
According to Dr. Forson, the allocation underscores the governmentโs commitment to sports development and national representation on the global stage. The funds are expected to support the Black Starsโ preparations, logistics, and participation in the tournament, which the United States, Canada, and Mexico will jointly host.
