The President of the Ghana Association of Assembly Members (GAAM) and Assembly Member for Asawinso ‘A’ Electoral Area, Hon. Ackah Nelson Frank, has given the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly (BABMA) a dismal 50% rating for its performance in 2024.
This marks a significant decline for the assembly, which was once ranked among the top performers in Ghana.
Speaking on Okyeame Radio’s “Oman No Adwuma” show, hosted by AkuapemHann, Frank Nelson Ackah attributed the disappointing performance to leadership failures within the assembly.
He noted that BABMA, which was previously recognized as the second-best performing assembly in the country, now finds itself in the 80th position.
This fall from grace, he said, was primarily due to a refusal by the leadership to adhere to established rules and regulations.
Frank Nelson Ackah emphasized that power is transient and should not be abused, urging current leaders to work collaboratively and follow the proper channels.
He also highlighted that the assembly’s poor leadership has resulted in significant administrative challenges, including the failure to clear the ex-gratia for outgoing assembly members.
