Guinness World Records finally responds to Afua’s singing marathon

Guinness World Records (GWR) has for the first time responded to Ghanaian event organiser, Afua Asantewaa‘s attempt to break the record for the longest singing marathon by an individual.

GWR’s response came up after a TikTok user, cute_gyebuaxx tagged the Guinness World Records in a post inquiring about Afua’s singing marathon.

The TikTok user’s comment read “Please there was this girl in Ghana who did a singing marathon. Can you please say something about it cos we’ve been waiting?”

In response, the World Records replied, “We’ve been reviewing Afua’s evidence and will be letting her know the results soon.”

Afua Asantewaa completed her singing marathon at 126 hours and 52 minutes on December 29, 2023 aiming to break the current record by Sunil Waghmare, an Indian who sang for 105 hours in 2012.

Afua further submitted evidence of her singing attempt to Guinness World Records on January 6, 2024.

The event organiser caught the attention of many Ghanaians during her sing-a-thon attempt and is anxiously waiting for official confirmation for her feat.
