Video: Frank Nelson accuses NDC’s Big Aidoo of camping voters

Frank Nelson Ackah, a candidate in the Western North Region’s Council of State elections, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Western North Regional Chairman, Michael Aidoo, popularly known as Big Aidoo, of engaging in electoral malpractice ahead of today’s election at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in Sefwi Wiawso.

Frank Nelson Ackah alleges that Big Aidoo is illegally housing voters at a hotel in Diaso, located in the Central Region, in an attempt to influence the election’s outcome.

He claims that this move is strategically designed to ensure that those under Aidoo’s control cast their votes in his favour, thereby compromising the credibility of the election process.

In addition to the allegations of voter coercion, Frank Nelson Ackah asserts that the electoral register in Aowin, Akontombra, and Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai has been tampered with to benefit Big Aidoo.

He further accuses certain party executives of deliberately altering the electoral roll to serve their interests, raising concerns over transparency and fairness in the election.

Moreover, Frank Nelson Ackah has implicated the Western North Regional Minister, Brentum, in the controversy, alleging that he is collaborating with Michael Aidoo to manipulate voters.

According to him, this partnership aims to sway the election in favour of a preferred candidate, undermining the democratic process.

Expressing strong opposition to these alleged irregularities, Frank Nelson Ackah has vowed to take all necessary measures to prevent electoral manipulation.

He has called on the Electoral Commission and security agencies to intervene immediately to ensure a free, fair, and credible election.

As the President of the Ghana National Assembly Members Association, Frank Nelson Ackah has issued a warning that if corrective actions are not taken, he will mobilize his members to reject all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) nominees.

He insists that protecting the integrity of the electoral system is paramount and that any form of malpractice will not be tolerated.

As of now, Big Aidoo and the Western North Regional Minister have not publicly responded to the accusations.
