George Alex Monney, the Deputy Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Western North Region, has lauded President Akufo-Addo’s administration for bringing much-needed hope and development to the area.
Alex Monney praised the government’s accomplishments compared to the previous administration, highlighting several key achievements.
Speaking on Kessben Tv on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, Alex Monney recounted that during President John Mahama’s tenure, a promise was made to construct the Benchemaa to Osei Kwadwo road, a vital link for the region. However, this promise went unfulfilled.
“Thanks be to God,” Monney said, “that His Excellency, Nana Akufo-Addo, has constructed this crucial road. The condition of the road was so dire that travel was nearly impossible during the rains. It’s a trans-national route connecting Ghana to Ivory Coast, and such infrastructure deserves commendation.”
Alex Monney also pointed to the creation of the Western North region, a promise made in the NPP’s 2016 manifesto, which was realized under President Akufo-Addo’s leadership.
He noted that while regions like Ahafo, Savannah, North East, and Oti benefited from the Western North’s efforts, the establishment of the region has greatly improved local governance and accessibility.
“Before the creation of the region, I used to spend three days traveling to Tarkoradi for meetings due to poor roads. Now, I can reach Wiawso in just 45 minutes thanks to the improved infrastructure,” Monney explained.
He concluded by asserting that the NPP government’s achievements offer a stark contrast to the previous administration, underscoring that the current leadership is committed to delivering tangible benefits and hope to the people of Western North.
“This efficiency demonstrates the NPP government’s commitment to providing hope and tangible improvements for our people, in stark contrast to the previous NDC administration.”
