Asawinsoman GM confident of victory over Memphis FC

The stage is set for an intense local derby as Memphis FC hosts Asawinsoman FC at the Awuah Memorial Park on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in Week 4 of the Western Region Football Association (WRFA) Division Two League.

Memphis FC, still seeking their first point of the campaign, faces a daunting challenge against an Asawinsoman FC side sitting second in the league table with four points.

Asawinsoman has shown promise with a win, and a draw in their two games played in the league, and they are determined to solidify their standing.

Speaking ahead of the game, Philip Atta Donkor, the General Manager of Asawinsoman FC, exuded confidence in his team’s preparedness and spirit.

“Hopefully, after training and consultations with the doctor, there are no injuries in camp. The players are fully prepared and eager to win, especially considering our last match’s results,” Donkor stated.

He emphasized the role of the club’s management in supporting the team, revealing that every necessary provision has been made to motivate the players.

“Management is ready to provide everything needed, including promised winning bonuses. Psychologically, the players are self-motivated by the occasion itself,” he added.

Donkor further predicted a dominant performance, confidently stating, “At the end of the day, our team will carry the 3 points. We aim to win with not less than a 2-goal margin.”

The derby promises to be an exciting spectacle, with Memphis FC striving for redemption and Asawinsoman FC aiming to assert their dominance.
