Bia Crucial Battle: Checkout the Head-to-Head, the history behind Adjoafuaman Fc & Bia Stars

All roads will be leading to Sefwi Elluokrom as we wait to witness the sixth edition of the Bia Crucial Battle (BCB) slated for Sunday, July 25, 2021.

The Bia Crucial Battle is the name of the association football local rivalry in Bia West District between Bia Stars and Adjoafuaman FC, both of which are based in Sefwi Adjoafua.

Bia Stars will host its community rivals Adjoafuaman Football Club in matchday five of the 2020/21 Western Region Division Two League.

Nana Kwabena Badu I Sports Arena in Adjoafua has been the usual venue that hosts these great football Clubs in Bia West District, but Nana Ahion Park hosted the first leg and will host the upcoming game as well.

Nana Ahion Park was chosen to host Bia West Zone A of the ongoing 2020/21 Western Region Division Two League due to the COVID-19 restrictions.

Formation of Clubs

Bia Stars Football Club.

Bia Stars, nicknamed ‘The Powers’ was established on 5th May, 1995 in Sefwi Adjoafua in the Bia West District.

The Winners of the 2019 Sefwi Annual Gala is currently under the leadership of Nana Akasibina Kwarteng.

Adjoafuaman Football club

On May 25, 2014, Adjoafuaman Football club was founded by Mr Isaiah Kwarteng been supported by Mr Bernard Blay-2020 NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Bia West Constituency.

The club nicknamed ‘The Power Boys’ was curved out from Adjoafuaman Senior High School team, who historically played in the 2014/15 Division Two Sub-Middle League.


The two sides have secured a win each in their previous five meetings in all major competitions.

Two of their encounters ended in a 1:1 draw, whiles the other game ended abruptly (2nd leg of 2016/2017 Division Two LeagueBia Stars 1:1 Adjoafuaman Fc).

2015/2016 Division Two League Season

1st leg-Adjoafuaman Fc 1:1 Bia Stars.

2nd leg-Bia Stars 3:0 Adjoafuman Fc.

2016/2017 Division Two League Season

1st leg-Adjoafuaman Fc 1:1 Bia Stars.

2nd leg-Bia Stars 1:1 Adjoafuaman Fc (abrupt end).

2020/2021 ongoing Division Two League

Adjoafuaman Fc 1:0 Bia Stars.

Current Form.

The 2019 Zouhounou Championelle winners, Adjoafuaman FC, leads Bia West Division Two League with Nine points, three wins and a defeat in their four games played.

The Power Boys is the best attacking team in the campaign, recorded five goals and been rated alongside Asuopiriman FC as the club with a good defensive system. The two clubs have conceded a goal each after matchday four.

However, Bia Stars currently sit fourth on the log with five points, four points behind their arch-rivals, Adjoafuaman FC.

Nana Akasibina’s side has won a game, lost one and drew two in four games. The club has three goals and conceded three in the ongoing Division Two League.

 Players to Watch

Lewis Abaka Junior (Adjoafuaman FC Midfielder)

Adjoafuaman FC Midfielder Lewis Abaka Junior has been instrumental in his first season at the club.

The sensational midfielder has won the three most valuable player awards (MVP), scored one and assisted a goal in the three games featured for the Power Boys.

His presence in the midfield will increase his side chances of winning Sunday’s game.

Kyei Kwarteng (Bia Stars Striker)

Kyei Kwarteng seems to be the icon of Bia Stars after involving himself in the three goals scored by his side.

The finisher has scored two goals and assisted one in the ongoing Division Two League.

He would be the man who could cause damages to the defence of Adjoafuaman in Sunday’s BCB encounter.

Meanwhile, the bottom-placed team Papaseman Football Club will host Asuopiriman Fc, who sits the second on the log on Sunday at Nana Adowa IV Park at 1 pm.
