Bia East MP Appointed 2nd Deputy Majority Chief Whip

The Member of Parliament for the Bia East Constituency, Richard Acheampong, has been appointed as the Second Deputy Majority Chief Whip in Parliament by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This announcement follows the party’s recent reshuffle, which saw Mahama Ayariga, MP for Bawku Central, assume the position of Majority Leader, with George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, MP for Cape Coast South, appointed as Deputy Majority Leader.

Other key appointments include Nelson Demefeakpor, MP for South Dayi, as Majority Chief Whip, and Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, MP for Ada, as First Deputy Majority Whip.

These changes were necessitated by the appointment of the former Majority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, and his team to ministerial positions.

As Second Deputy Majority Chief Whip, Richard Acheampong will play a pivotal role in organizing and coordinating the party’s activities in Parliament.

His responsibilities will include ensuring the attendance of NDC members during parliamentary proceedings, facilitating government business, and maintaining party discipline.

Richard Acheampong brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as a member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, representing the Bia East Constituency in the Western Region.

His academic background in Human Resource Management and Law is expected to contribute significantly to his success in the position.

The NDC’s leadership reshuffle is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s presence in Parliament and ensure the effective implementation of its legislative agenda.

With Richard Acheampong’s appointment, the party stands to benefit from his expertise and experience, further enhancing its overall performance in Parliament.

As Acheampong assumes his new role, he will be expected to work closely with other members of the NDC leadership to advance the party’s interests and promote the welfare of Ghanaians.
