Greetings to the college community of Bia Lamplighter, Sefwi Debiso:

I am saddened to learn that there was an attempt to harm human life and to destroy college properties in the last week on campus. I have been made aware that the police are investigating the events, with some community members named as suspects.

Further, the disturbance has been reported by news outlets nationwide with my name associated with the developments in some negative way in the form of a warning or advice to the handlers of the case.

I am currently outside the country but due back to Ghana next week. I am saddened to witness these developments as a person who meant well and poured his resources into the effort of building a Christ- centred institution.

The college we sought to develop was based on certain pillars to foster knowledge, transformation, and service. We are hoping we can change the current narrative, but it appears evil continues to occur at our cherished college.

We are aware our God knows what is going on, and His glory will shine through this difficult phase of the Lamplighter experiment. Human machinations may issue in quick results, but what is right will prevail in the final outcome.

The truth will come out in due course and the individual (s) who think they are so smart will be found out. It may take some time, but their shame can never be covered.

I offer my love for peace and harmony as my policy to safeguard Blacoe. Please preserve the peace and act according to law and order. Blessings and peace.

Augustine Tawiah
