Bibiani Goldstars defeat Holy Stars in MTN FA Cup Round of 32

Bibiani Goldstars secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Baseke Holy Stars, to advance to the Round of 16 in the MTN FA Cup at the AAK Sports Arena in Ampain.

The winning goal, scored by Abdul Faruk Amoaful in the 13th minute, proved to be the decisive factor in the contest.

Coach Frimpong Manso’s Bibiani Goldstars demonstrated their determination and focus from the outset, taking an early lead that would ultimately prove insurmountable.

Despite a strong push by Holy Stars in the second half, the Goldstars’ defense, marshaled by goalkeeper and Captain Ernest Kussi, held firm to secure the win.

Kussi, in particular, was instrumental in ensuring his team’s progression, making several crucial saves to deny Holy Stars an equalizing goal. His leadership and composure under pressure were evident throughout the match, inspiring his teammates to put in a solid shift.

The victory marks a significant milestone for Bibiani Goldstars, who continue to make waves in the MTN FA Cup. As they advance to the Round of 16, they will be looking to build on this momentum and make a deep run in the competition.

For Baseke Holy Stars, the defeat brings an end to their MTN FA Cup campaign. Despite a valiant effort, they were unable to overcome the deficit, and their season will now focus on the Ghana Premier League.
