Bibiani Goldstars eye top spot as they clash with Accra Lions

The stage is set for a thrilling encounter in the Ghana Premier League as Bibiani Goldstars, the pride of Western North, prepare to face Accra Lions.

The match will take place at the WAFA Park, Sogakofe, in week 17, the final game of the first round, on Sunday.

Bibiani Goldstars, currently sitting second on the league table with 30 points, are eager to claim the top spot.

However, they’re tied with Heart of Lions, who have a slight edge in goal difference, boasting 8 goals to Goldstars’ 7.

Meanwhile, Accra Lions are fighting to avoid relegation, languishing on 17th position with a mere 13 points.

Goldstars have demonstrated determination in their recent away matches, securing one win, two draws, and putting up strong performances despite two losses.

With Samuel Atta Kumi in exceptional form, having already scored 5 goals in the league this season, they’ll be looking to capitalize on his goal-scoring ability.

This clash marks the seventh league meeting between the two sides, with Accra Lions holding a slender advantage, having won two matches, while Goldstars have secured one victory and three draws.

Coach Frimpong Manso will be aware that a win in this crucial encounter is essential if they harbor ambitions of lifting the league title this year.
