Bibiani Goldstars have reclaimed the top spot in the Ghana Premier League following Asante Kotoko’s defeat to Nsoatreman FC.
The Miners were held to a goalless draw by defending champions FC Samartex at Bibiani Dun’s Park on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Despite missing out on a fourth consecutive home victory, they secured a crucial point that propelled them to the summit of the league standings.
Samartex, determined to bounce back after two winless matches, put up a resilient performance to deny Goldstars the maximum points. The game ended in a stalemate, just like their first-round encounter, which ended 1-1.
With this result, Bibiani Goldstars now lead the league table with 34 points, the same as Asante Kotoko, but with a superior goal difference of +9 compared to Kotoko’s +8. FC Samartex, on the other hand, sits in 9th place.
Goldstars will face league newcomers Basake Holy Stars in their next fixture, while Samartex will host Medeama SC as they seek a return to winning ways.
