Bibiani Goldstars suffer narrow defeat to FC Samartex in Samreboi

Bibiani Goldstars endured a narrow 0-1 defeat to FC Samartex during match-week 32 of the Ghana Premier League in Samreboi.

The decisive moment came just before half-time when Emmanuel Mammah scored the only goal of the match.

This crucial strike ensured the Timber Giants extended their lead atop the league standings by seven points, securing their first-ever championship in the top flight with two games remaining in the season.

Despite the Miners’ resilience, they succumbed to pressure just before the break as Mammah found the back of the net for Samartex.

The second half saw a temporary halt to the game due to a soggy pitch following a heavy downpour. However, Samartex managed to hold on after the break, claiming all three points and sealing their historic league title.

Bibiani Goldstars currently sit in 11th position with 43 points. Despite the loss, Coach Frimpong Manso can take pride in his team’s performance, especially considering the challenging situation they were in when he took charge.
