The Chirano Traditional Area in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality has officially enstooled a new Tufohemaa, with a strong commitment to championing quality healthcare delivery and community development.
The newly installed Tufohemaa, Nana Akua Adepa Kuranchie, was coronated at a colourful traditional ceremony held at Akaaso in the Western North Region.
The event brought together chiefs, queen mothers, opinion leaders, and residents from across the traditional area to witness the historic occasion.

In an interview after her coronation, Nana Akua Adepa Kuranchie outlined her vision for the area, describing access to quality healthcare as one of the most pressing challenges confronting rural communities within the traditional council.
She expressed concern over the difficulties residents face in accessing proper medical services and pledged to work closely with government authorities, health institutions, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to improve healthcare delivery.

According to her, strengthening healthcare systems in the area will not only improve the well-being of residents but also enhance productivity and socio-economic development.
“I am committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure our people have access to quality healthcare services,” she assured.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of Akaaso, Nana Kwasi Nwunu II, highlighted other developmental challenges affecting the community.
He mentioned the urgent need to extend electricity poles to underserved parts of Akaaso and to improve access to potable drinking water.
He called on government agencies and development partners to support the community in addressing these pressing concerns.
