The long-waited Division II league started in a grand style in Sefwi Wiawso Zone in the Western North Region.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, games are said to be played at a game centre of which Sefwi Asafo Ramos Park was clarified to host the league.
Fans were poised for these actions from the Division II clubs because of the duration such league has been played over three years.
On Saturday, June 12, 2021, the league games started with an experienced side, Boako Nationals facing debutant Freedom Stars.
Richard Owusu scored the first goal for the debutant Freedom Stars from a penalty spot.
Asante Collins Jnr after missing a penalty in the early stage of the game continued to equalize for Boako Nationals which the game ended 1 – 1 draw.
On Sunday, 13th June, Matchday 1 continued as Yahweh FC were defeated 2 – 0 by Kofis FC at their own backyard.
Kelvin Manson a central defender who doubles as Deputy Skipper for Kofis FC scored in additional time to aid him won the man of the match award after the game.
Meanwhile, Sefwi Punikrom Western United was surprisingly beaten by Rock Stars by 3 – 0.
Prince Owusu Gyimah scored a brace and also won the man of the match award.
Hubert Xavier who came from the bench scored the third goal to enhance Rocky Stars leads the league table after Matchday 1.
Meanwhile, Anokye Stars were drawn by and will feature in the matchday two of the 2020/21 Western Regional Division Two League.
