Nana Kwame Fosuhene, also known as DJ Emparo, a well-respected DJ in the Western North Region, has publicly voiced his disappointment with the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards for failing to acknowledge the regional categories in this year’s awards.
DJ Emparo, known for his dedication to promoting music culture in Western North, expressed frustration over the lack of recognition and transparency from the organizers.
According to DJ Emparo, the Western North Region alone contributed over 10,000 votes to the awards scheme, underscoring the regional commitment and enthusiasm for the awards.
However, the lack of acknowledgment for these efforts has left him feeling disheartened. “The DJ of the Year category doesn’t come close to our vote count, yet our region’s support goes unrecognized,” he stated.
DJ Emparo pledged not to participate in the awards in the future, citing a need for fairness and transparency, especially when communities rally behind nominees with such dedication.
His decision is reflective of the disappointment felt by many in the Western North Region, who had high hopes for regional representation in the national awards scheme.
