Speaking on the theme, “Developing Children’s Talents for a Meaningful Life; The Critical Role of Stakeholders,” Prophet Wisdom Aha highlighted that the journey of education involves not just teachers and students but also parents, community members, and institutions like EL College Limited.

He underscored that nurturing the potential within children is a shared responsibility.

“To our graduands,” Prophet Wisdom Aha said, “today marks the culmination of your hard work, dedication, and perseverance. You have shown not only academic excellence but also the character and values that will guide you in life. Remember, this is just the beginning. Your talents are seeds planted by your educators and caregivers, ready to bloom into a meaningful and impactful life.”

Addressing parents and guardians, Prophet Wisdom Aha acknowledged their pivotal role in their children’s success.

He urged them to continue being pillars of strength as their children face life’s challenges and opportunities.

Measure your success not by comparing yourself to others but by surpassing your own past achievements. This mindset will drive you to continually grow, learn, and evolve.”

He concluded by celebrating the achievements of the graduands and urging all stakeholders to remain committed to equipping them for meaningful and impactful lives.

Joseph Arthur, Headmaster of El College.

In his address, the Headmaster of El College, Joseph Arthur, discussed the process of talent development, starting from early childhood at home, where basic skills such as cleanliness and organization are introduced.

He noted that once a child’s skills are identified, they are further developed through school and parental support.

Joseph Arthur illustrated the role of educators by explaining how teachers can identify potential career paths for students based on their classroom behaviour and abilities.

“Even in the classroom, the child would do something and the teacher would say this child can be a lawyer per how she or he speaks, and good training from home and at the school helps the child to showcase his or her talent,” he explained.

Reflecting on his own educational background, he shared the motto of his alma mater, “to train the mind, the body, and the soul,” underscoring the importance of holistic education.

He cited an example from the graduation ceremony: “For instance, the girl who came to dance— we have a lot of children here, but she was the chosen one because she can dance very well, and with good training, she can be an international dancer.”

Joseph Arthur called on all stakeholders to support the development of children’s talents and mentioned the diverse skills students at El College possess, from reading the Bible proficiently to crafting with wood.

“El College is to provide a comprehensive and holistic education to help the child to showcase his or her talent so that she or he can be a great person in the future,” he stated.

Joseph Arthur appealed to parents to ensure timely payment of school fees, enabling their children to focus on their education.

“We are appealing to everyone to help the school, especially the parents, to pay their children’s school fees for their wards to concentrate on their education,” he said.
