Festus Bumakama Agyapong, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Sefwi Wiawso Constituency, has officially commenced the construction of the Amamogya Bridge in the Asawinso community, a long-awaited infrastructure project that promises to enhance transportation and accessibility for residents.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Friday, October 18, 2024, marking a significant milestone in fulfilling a key campaign promise.
During his visit to the construction site, Festus Bumakama Agyapong inspected the preparations and materials that have already been transported to facilitate the start of the project.
He emphasized the importance of the bridge for the community and expressed his commitment to ensuring its timely completion within three months.
“This bridge has been a pressing need for the people of Asawinso, and I am proud to say that we are now turning that need into reality,” Festus Bumakama Agyapong stated.
“When I promised to build this bridge in my campaign, I meant it. Today, we are laying the foundation for a better future for our community. This bridge will not only improve transportation but will also foster economic growth by connecting our people to essential services.”

Residents of Asawinso have welcomed the commencement of the project with open arms, viewing it as a transformative development for their community. Nana Kwabena Yeboah, a resident, shared his excitement.
“For years, we have struggled with access to basic services, especially during the rainy season. The Amamogya Bridge is a long-awaited project that will change our lives for the better. We thank Hon. Agyapong for keeping his promise and for prioritizing our needs.”
Another resident, Madam Adwoa Asare, expressed her relief and optimism regarding the project.
“This bridge will make it easier for our children to get to school and for us to access the market and healthcare facilities. We have faced many challenges because of the poor road conditions, especially during the rains. We are grateful for this initiative, and we hope to see it completed on time.”
