The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Wassa Amenfi West cum Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC), Mr. Abraham Kofi Asante on Monday 27th July 2020, donated items and an amount of money to Asankragua Technical community radio.
Mr. Abraham Kofi Asante who was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon George Agyiri with some party sympathizers, donated items such as computers, laptops, and other equipment to Asankragua Technical community radio and a cheque of Ghc 2,400.00.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Asante said since radio is the medium that easily transfers information to reach out to various homes, there is a need to maintain Verbelt Beam Fm 92.9.
In the history of Ghana, Asankragua Technical School happens to be the first second cycle institution to own a radio station, which was built by a common student but was closed down due to mismanagement.
Mr. Asante said in line with the commitment to eliminating social inequality and empowering the vulnerable in society by making public facilities active, most especially the second circle schools in the municipality.
He further pledged to build a storey building for the school if they vote for him come December 7 elections.
The Assistant Headmaster for Asankragua Technical School, Mr. Amia Prince Kwoffie, who received the cheque and the items on behalf of the entire staff thanked Hon Abraham Kofi Asante for his kind gesture.
