Municipal Chief Executive of Amenfi West, Hon. Lord Nana Tandoh, in the early hours of Wednesday, 13th October, 2021, reported to the office to officially start work as the MCE, a week after his confirmation.
He started with a visit to all the Departments at the Assembly and re-echoed his readiness to working with them to achieve the best results in the development of the Municipality.
He assured the various Heads of Departments to be steadfast and work harder as they have always done.
Hon. Tandoh urged them not hesitate to approach him to discuss matters that are of great importance to the Assembly.
He, however, pointed out without mincing words that there is more work to be done and this cannot be achieved through “our strengths but with all hands on deck we can do more,”
The Hon. MCE and his team proceeded to monitor the ongoing Mock Exams which is fully funded by the Assembly in some schools in the Municipality.
He was largely satisfied with the conduct so far. He promised to expand its scope in the years to come and encouraged the candidates to work hard to also benefit from the Free Senior High School Policy of President Akufo-Addo led Administration.
“We are here this morning to encourage you to learn hard because hard work pays a lot. What you are doing now is the mock examination which is preparing you for your final examination. As we all know, His Excellency President Akufo-Addo, has introduced the Free SHS policy and we want every child in the Amenfi West Municipality to enjoy the policy, that’s why we (Assembly) sponsored your mock examination” he told the candidates.
He recounted how he was able to excel in a similar stage 25 years ago as a pupil and urged the pupils to take their studies seriously to become better persons in the future.
“We were all like you, about 25 years ago, we were all writing BECE just as you are doing now. So, I will encourage you to learn hard and I believe the sky will be your limit,” He added.
The MCE was accompanied by the Municipal Education Director, Mrs Solace Osei Appiah, Coordinating Director, Mr. Saaka Ibrahim, Presiding Member, Hon Suleman Azure among others.
Some of the Schools he visited include Asanco model, Yirase Basic School, Asuoshiam Basic School, Samraboi Catholic School, AT & P, Samraboi SDA.
Some of the headmasters outlined the challenges that their schools are facing and appealed to the MCE for support.
Hon. Lord Nana Tandoh again assured them that he would do everything within his purview as the MCE to ensure that their challenges are duly resolved.
