Increase Police Patrol team to curb armed robberies – Chief of Asafo pleads

Unknown Persons have stolen an electrical transformer that belongs to the Electricity Company of Ghana at Sefwi Asafo in Sefwi Wiawso Municipality of the Western North Region.

The thieves brought the transformer down at night and dismantled it. They made away with cables and other parts leading to a cut in power supply to the area.

On this, the Gyaasehene of Sefwi Asafo, Nana Kwaku Gyamfi, has expressed worries over how their people have been losing their properties due to the high rate of armed robbery attacks.

According to him, the situation is getting out of hand as these armed Robbers attack innocent traders and drivers at least every three days.

Gyaasehen said all criminals and their cohorts must advise themselves and know that they can run, but they can never hide.

“It is a wake-up call, when we see people we do not know, we should inquire and possibly report their movement and activities to the security services for action,” Nana Kwaku Gyamfi advised residents.

He also called for more police personnel in Sefwi Asafo and intensified police patrol teams on the highways.

Chiefs in Sefwi Asafo have decided to invoke a curse on armed robbery attacks on innocent traders and residents.

“The gods have protected us for many years, so if the armed Robbers want to take us for granted, we will do what we can to protect our people and our interest,” He added.
