Residents within Large Scale Mining area complain the rareness of getting employment. According to them, they are sometimes left behind for foreigners.
However, indigenes around Chirano Gold Mines including Subiri, Surano, Ayinase, Akoti, Etwebo, Paboase, Chirano, etc have appealed to the management of the mining firm to consider them in their employment decision.
Admitting the fact that, the mines has employed many indigenes but that isn’t enough as the adage goes, “Oliver Twist asks for more”.
They pleaded that, the company should consider them first in terms of employment before any foreigner because their chiefs are the custodians of the land they mine.
According to them, they are not of the view that the mines should sack some people and get them employed but the qualified indigenes must be considered first when there’s job opportunity or vacancy.
They also commended the mines for their contributions to the development of their communities.
