KoAntwi Mining Company Limited has announced plans to provide monthly allowances to elderly residents of the Asawinso ‘A’ community in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality to further enhance its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The mining company, as part of its corporate social responsibilities, has previously undertaken road improvement projects in several communities in its catchment area. Roads such as Subri-Nkwanta to Aboabo, Sefwi-Wenchi–Dominibo, Merewa-Nkronua and Merewa to Aboso have been reshaped, benefiting residents in these areas.

Speaking to the press, Frank Nelson Ackah, the Assembly Member for the Asawinso ‘A’ Electoral Area, revealed that the mining company will now extend its assistance by providing monthly allowances to senior citizens in the community.

He stated that the initiative aims to ensure that elderly residents receive essential support, recognizing their contributions to the community over the years.

Frank Nelson Ackah said the allocation of allowances will commence with the first fifty beneficiaries who registered their names following the announcement.

The Assembly Member for the Asawinso ‘A’ Electoral Area expressed gratitude towards the mining company for its commitment to assisting the elderly within the community.

In light of his reelection for a second term as Assembly Member, Frank Nelson Ackah expressed appreciation to the electorate for their continued support and endorsement.
