Mikel Arteta has hinted that he would welcome Thomas Partey signing a new contract with Arsenal.

Partey is currently in the final months of his existing deal, which is set to expire at the end of the season. The Ghanaian midfielder has impressed this campaign, delivering standout performancesโ€”particularly during Arsenalโ€™s Champions League quarter-final clashes with Real Madrid.

When asked about progress on a potential contract extension, Arteta responded:
“Yes, there is progress with all the players. Iโ€™ll leave that to Andrea [Berta] and the club to decide and to talk about.”

Pressed further on whether the club intends to keep Partey, Arteta remained coy, saying:
“The intention is very clear. Iโ€™ll leave that to Andrea and the club to take a step forward.”

Following their thrilling 2-1 victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night, Arsenal will shift focus back to the Premier League as they prepare to face Ipswich away on Sunday.
