The Directorate of Health of the NDC Professionals Forum has officially congratulated Dr. David Tetteh on his appointment as a representative of pharmacists on the Governing Board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Health Directorate hailed the appointment as a proud moment for the pharmaceutical community and a significant stride in Ghana’s pursuit of equitable, high-quality healthcare delivery.

The Forum described Dr. Tetteh as a “dedicated professional” whose contributions to the healthcare sector, particularly in pharmaceutical services, policy advocacy, and mentorship, have been exemplary.
“This appointment is not only a significant personal milestone,” the statement noted, “but also a moment of pride for the entire pharmaceutical community and all stakeholders committed to quality healthcare delivery in Ghana.”
Dr. Tetteh, a longstanding member of the NDC ProForum and a pioneering force behind the Forum’s Pharmacist arm, played a key role in organizing the maiden Health Conference—an initiative that set the tone for deeper professional collaboration and policy engagement within the party’s health network.
According to the Directorate, Dr. Tetteh brings a unique and valuable mix of expertise to the NHIA Board. In addition to his clinical background, he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), providing him with strategic and financial insight crucial for navigating the complex operational landscape of the NHIA.
He is also currently a final-year law (LLB) student, a pursuit the Forum believes will further enhance his capacity to contribute to governance, regulatory compliance, and ethical policy formulation.
“This rare combination of pharmaceutical expertise, business insight, and legal training positions Dr. Tetteh as a dynamic and highly capable contributor to the operations and strategic direction of the NHIA Board,” the statement said.
The NDC ProForum’s Directorate of Health reaffirmed its full support for Dr. Tetteh, pledging continued collaboration and encouragement as he takes on what they described as “an important national responsibility.”
The NHIA Governing Board is tasked with steering Ghana’s national health insurance system toward efficiency, equity, and sustainability. Dr. Tetteh’s appointment is expected to further elevate the voice of pharmacists in shaping national health policy and strengthening the delivery of pharmaceutical services across the country.
