Nsoatreman FC proved too hot for Bibiani Goldstars FC to handle on matchday 30 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon at the Nana Amoah Koromansah Park.
The hosts cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory, keeping their hopes alive for a top-four finish by the end of the season.
Nsoatreman’s dominance was evident from the start. Midfielder Kwabena Adu Meider broke the deadlock in the 34th minute, putting Maxwell Konadu’s team ahead.
Just before the half-time whistle, Collins Kofi Kudjoe extended the lead, sending the home crowd into a frenzy with a goal four minutes before the break.
The second half saw a continuation of Nsoatreman’s control. Stephen Diyou, the highly-rated youngster, added to the tally with a strike in the 82nd minute.
Diyou then capped off the afternoon with a second goal in additional time, sealing a comprehensive win for the home side.
This victory moved Nsoatreman FC up to 5th place in the league standings, just 10 points behind the leaders. In contrast, Bibiani Goldstars dropped two places, landing in the 11th position.
Nsoatreman will next travel to Tamale to face Karela United FC, while Goldstars will look to bounce back as they host Dreams FC at home.
